William F. Showers, 37, was sentenced to 100 months — or more than eight years — in federal prison plus five years supervised release for possessing over 50 grams of meth with intent to distribute, said US Attorney Gerard Karam.

Prosecutors said Showers "conspired with others" to sell more than 200 grams of the drug, including 50 grams of "actual or pure methamphetamine."

The undercover agent purchased meth directly from Showers in Berks and Schuylkill counties during the investigation, authorities said.

Showers was previously charged with selling meth in Berks County in February 2021, according to the Sheriff's Office.

At the time of his arrest, officers discovered a handgun and quantities of meth, marijuana, and heroin, the Sheriff's Office said.
